FG to prosecute anyone hiring an apprentice who is less than 12 years old

According to Onyejeocha, the ministry has started enforcing the legislation and educating the public about crimes in each of the nation's six geopolitical zones.According to the Federal Government, hiring an apprentice who is younger than 12 will result in child labor charges.This was said on Thursday in Abuja at a roadshow sensitization rally at Kugbo, the furniture market, by Nkiruka Onyejeocha, the Minister of State for Labor and Employment.The minister said that the government had started enforcing a 12-year minimum age requirement for participation in apprenticeship programs in Nigeria, through the representation of Alh. Mohammed Tolani, Director, Skill Development and Certification.
