Emir of Kano wants illegal sale of Northern children in Southern region to stop

The head of CLO also pleaded with President Tinubu to ensure that all unauthorized charges are removed in order to finish the rescue operation in Unity School systems.President Bola Tinubu and members of the House of Representatives have been commended by the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) for undoing the 100% increase in tuition fees for Unity Schools. The praise was given on Friday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu by Vincent Ezekwueme, the Chairman of CLO in Anambra. When Unity School reopened in September 2023, an increase in student fees from ?43,000 to ?87,000 was accompanied by controversy, as NAN remembers. According to Ezekwueme, the CLO and other patriots made impassioned pleas to President Tinubu, urging him to reverse the increment out of generosity and patriotism in order to prevent a large number of school leavers."This ugly trend must stop. We have to rise up against it. We will no longer condone a situation whereby our children are kidnapped, sold and their tribe and religion were changed. "This illicit act must stop. We have to rise up to check the situation as it is going out of hand. The situation cannot stop itself, it is we that will make it stop. It happened few years ago and now it has happened again. Only God knows how many of our children had been kidnapped and sold," he said.
