Makinde maintained that since the previous council chairmen's elections were based on unconstitutionality, their removal in 2019 was appropriate.Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has declared that he will not give the dismissed local government chairmen their money until the Supreme Court gives him the go-ahead.Makinde made these remarks on Saturday in Ibadan in response to the garnishee order on state government accounts that the local government chairmen who were fired by the governor in 2019 had just obtained from an Abuja Federal High Court. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), an order was issued by Justice A.O. Ebong on December 15th, attaching the state government's accounts at ten commercial banks in the nation.
