NLC rejects the national strike notification

Upah claims that the statement is untrue and that the NLC has not issued a notice of strike. The notice of a statewide strike that was purportedly set for Monday has been rejected by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).This was said in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja by Benson Upah, the NLC's head of information and public affairs.A statewide strike was scheduled to begin on Monday, according to a statement allegedly signed by the secretary general of the TUC, Nuhu Toro, and the general secretary of the NLC, Emmanuel Ugboaja. Upah claims that the information is untrue and that we have not given any notice of a strike.“We want to reassure Nigerians that this notice did not emanate from us, and neither do we have any intention of initiating any strike action this period,” he said. He said concerned Nigerians were advised to ignore the notice and treat it as fake.
