Governor Mbah asks for ongoing assistance for the families of fallen heroes

The governor also expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Armed Forces for their contributions to national unity, security, and peace.To help them deal with the current economic realities, the relatives of the dead heroes, the elderly, the ill, and the poor have asked for ongoing support from Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah.Mbah made the request on Saturday in Enugu at the Nigerian Legion and Enugu State Council's unveiling of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblems. The purpose of the event was to generate money in support of the living heroes and heroines, especially the ailing, elderly, bedridden, and injured among others.He offered prayers for the souls of the slain warriors and heroines, “who voluntarily laid down their lives in the service of their fatherland”. He acknowledged that territorial integrity of the country depends solely on the Nigerian Armed Forces.
