The Army observes three days of mourning for the deceased COAS

All Nigerian Army formations and units, according to Nwachukwu, have been ordered to fly their flags at half mast.In remembrance of the former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Maj.-Gen. Chris Alli, who passed away in Lagos on Sunday, the COAS, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has announced a three-day period of mourning, beginning on Monday.This was revealed in a statement made on Monday in Abuja by Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations. According to Nwachukwu, all Nigerian Army formations and units were instructed to fly their flags at half mast at this time as a show of respect and sympathy for one another. According to him, the directive also required all staff members to honor the late former COAS by donning a black hand band.
