The Army observes three days of mourning for the deceased COAS

Chris Alli, who passed away in Lagos on Sunday, the COAS, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has announced a three-day period of mourning, beginning on Monday.This was revealed in a statement made on Monday in Abuja by Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations. According to Nwachukwu, all Nigerian Army formations and units were instructed to fly their flags at half mast at this time as a show of respect and sympathy for one another. According to him, the directive also required all staff members to honor the late former COAS by donning a black hand band.
