BREAKING: APC's Ododo wins Kogi gov election as Melaye, Ajaka bite the dust

In the fiercely contested Kogi governorship race, INEC pronounced the APC candidate the victor and returned him to office.After intense competition, a winner has finally been declared for the Kogi State governorship. Usamn Ododo, the flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), easily won the coveted position.The State Returning Officer, Prof. Johnson Urama, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, pronounced Ododo the election's victor."Ahmed Usman Ododo of APC is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected, having satisfied the requirement of the law," the Returning Officer stated on Sunday night in front of a packed collation center in Lokoja, the state capital. With 446,237 votes, the APC candidate defeated the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, who was his closest rival.
