Matawalle was defeated by Dauda of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in his campaign for a second term in March.Bello Matawalle, the State Minister for Defense, claims that in an attempt to get him removed from President Bola Tinubu's cabinet, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has been making vile remarks about him.In response to the state government's accusations of corruption against him, the outgoing governor of Zamfara State made this statement.The former governor was recently charged by the Zamfara State government with embezzling billions of naira from an unfinished state cargo airport project.
