Elisha Abbo is fired by the court, and Amos Yohanna of the PDP is named senator for Adamawa North

The court determined that Yohanna and PDP won the election with a majority of legitimate votes after deducting the invalid votes from each party's total.Sen. Elisha Abbo, an All Progressives Congress (APC) senator representing the Adamawa North Senatorial District, was dismissed from his position on Monday by an appeals court in Abuja.A three-member panel led by Justice C.E. Nwosu-Iheme issued an order directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to certify Rev. Amos Yohanna of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the senatorial district's duly elected representative. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Abbo was proclaimed the senate election winner by INEC on February 25. Dissatisfied with the declaration, Yohana and the PDP filed a petition before the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Tribunal sitting in Yola, Adamawa State challenging the return of Abbo.
