FG investigates fund disbursement and permanently suspends the N-Power program

The N-Power initiative has been put on indefinite hold, according to the minister, after some irregularities were found.Following the revelation of several irregularities, the Federal Government has slammed an indefinite stop of the N-Power program.During an interview with TVC News on Saturday, October 7, 2023, Betta Edu, the minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation, made the announcement. She said that the scheme's inconsistencies were the reason the program was suspended, and she added that an investigation will be initiated into how the monies were used since the program's commencement. “We must go back to look into N-Power and understand what the problems are so we will basically suspend the programme for now until we are done with proper investigation into the utilisation of funds into the N-Power programme," Edu said as she justified the suspension.
