LPG exports to Nigeria are prohibited by the Niger Republic

The authorities in Niger said that special authorization would be needed before LPG could be shipped outside of the nation.According to a statement issued by the government on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, exports of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to Nigeria and other nations have been prohibited by Niger Republic authorities. The statement claims that domestically produced gas should only be utilized to supply the home market and that it is only permitted to be exported where there is a surplus. The neighboring nation of Nigeria has received gas exports from Niger over the years, and as recently as 2022, the two nations inked an MoU for the importing of petroleum products.
