For Eid-el-Maulud, the FG proclaims September 27 a public holiday

Nigerians were advised by the government to adopt the virtues of tolerance, love, and patience.In observance of the Holy Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) birth and the Eid-el-Maulud celebration, the Federal Government has designated Wednesday, September 27, a public holiday.The Federal Government's proclamation was made in Abuja by the Interior Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. Tunji-Ojo expressed his gratitude to the Muslim Ummah for being there for the event, both at home and abroad. He urged Nigerians to adopt the deep spiritual virtues that the Holy Prophet displayed, like as love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance. The minister also exhorted Nigerians, particularly the young people, to embrace the virtues of hard work and a peaceful demeanor toward other people, regardless of their faith, philosophy, social status, or ethnicity.
