Joseph Afolasade, the command's acting deputy director for army public relations. He claims that the Joe Akaahan Cantonment in Makurdi is where the special operation was launched. According to Afolasade, the commander of Operation Whirl Stroke, Maj.-Gen. Sunday Igbinomwanhia, declared that the army would work with other security organizations and important stakeholders to ensure long-term peace throughout the nation.
