OAU students threaten to protest if the tuition increase is not reversed

The students urged the FG to allocate more money from the budget to the education sector in order to provide high-quality education.The management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has been urged to rescind the recent hike in tuition prices by the students' union.The union's president, Abass Ojo, made the request on Monday at a press conference held on the campus of the university in Ile-Ife. The university revealed in a press release from its public relations representative, Abiodun Olarewaju, that the Senate of the University made the decision to increase tuition during an emergency meeting on September 12. Ojo claimed that starting on September 15, the Union's leadership had given the school administration a five-day deadline to stop raising tuition.
