Alarm over cholera outbreak raised in Ogun

The public was instructed by the governor's aide to contact the closest public health center in situations of stooling that included or did not include vomiting. The public has been informed by the Ogun government that there may be a cholera outbreak in the state's Ijebu North Local Government area. This was said in a statement made on Sunday in Abeokuta by Dr. Tomi Coker, the governor's special health adviser. According to Coker, cholera is a disease that typically strikes during the rainy season and may also be linked to an unsanitary environment and inadequate personal hygiene. It frequently includes stooling, either with or without vomiting, which causes dehydration. If the extreme dehydration is not properly treated, cholera can be fatal, the doctor warned.
