Emirates flights won't resume anytime soon; FG provides an update

Emirates Airline will restart flights to and from Nigeria with immediate effect, the presidency had previously said.The Federal Government has reversed its prior statement regarding the start of Emirates and Etihad Airlines' flight operations in Nigeria, which are controlled by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).Festus Keyamo, the minister of aviation and aerospace development, said that the two airlines have no plans to start operating flights again in Nigeria. Following a meeting between President Bola Tinubu and his UAE counterpart, Sheik Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi on September 11, 2023, the president had previously made a statement that was in conflict with this declaration. Presidential Spokesman Ajuri Ngelale said both leaders reached a historic agreement, which resulted in the immediate cessation of the visa ban placed on Nigerian travellers and the immediate resumption of flight operations by Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines.
