Tribunal removes Jerry Gana's son from the House of Representatives

The three-member panel, presided over by Justice Sylvester Godspower, sided with Mr. Usman's arguments when it handed down its decision on Monday.Rep. Joshua Gana, the son of Prof. Jerry Gana, was removed from the House of Representatives on Monday by the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Tribunal.According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Rep. Joshua Audu Gana ran as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Edati/Lavun/Mokwa Federal Constituency of Niger State on February 25. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recognized Mr. Abdullahi Usman Gbatamagi, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), as the election's loser with 40,003 votes against Mr. Gana's 47,942 votes. Dissatisfied with the declaration, the APC and its candidate, Gbatamagi, through their Counsel, Johnson Usman, SAN, challenged the return of Gana.
