Lagos' blood banks aren't equipped to handle emergencies, says an NGO

NAN reports that on September 4 at Ikeja, TLF will also hold a blood donation exercise.According to Mrs. Oluwadamilola Oyedunle, the program director for the Timilehin Leukemia Foundation (TLF), Lagos State does not have enough blood banks to handle emergencies.On the sidelines of the TLF street walk and awareness campaign for the September Day Blood Donation Drive for leukemia patients, Oyedunle revealed this on Saturday in Lagos. According to NAN, September 4 is designated as World Leukaemia Day, a global initiative that encourages people to come together to promote awareness of the disease. Oyedunle noted that leukaemia caused more than 300,000 fatalities worldwide and that it was challenging to identify the generalized symptoms and indicators of the disease.
