APC candidate wins after tribunal dismisses a representative of the Lagos Labour Party

The tribunal determined that the Labour Party lawmaker was not properly authorized to run for office and qualified to do so.The Labour Party's Seyi Sowunmi's election as a member of the House of Representatives for the Ojo Federal Constituency in Lagos State has been overturned by the National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal, which is based in Lagos.Lanre Ogunyemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was instead recognized as the legitimate winner of the election held on February 25, 2023 by the three-person tribunal headed by Justice Abdullahi Ozegya. Justice Muhammad Sambo and Justice Ashu Ewah are the other panelists. Ogunyemi is a former secretary of the APC in Lagos and a two-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
