IGP advises Nigerians to stop criticizing police officers on social media

The IGP claims he cannot ensure that all of his personnel would act properly. On Tuesday in Ibadan, the acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, advised Nigerians to refrain from complaining about police officers on social media.At a stakeholders' gathering at the Police Command Headquarters in Oyo State, Egbetokun offered the counsel. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the leadership of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) and representatives of traditional and religious leaders attended the stakeholders meeting. Leaders of the Igbo and Hausa communities, as well as the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), were present. Egbetokun said Nigerians should feel free to report any complaint against police officers to the Commissioners of Police or any other senior officer that would ensure justice is done. `
