Niger governor sympathises with NAF over helicopter crash

He said that the helicopter disaster, which occurred in the Shinoro highlands, occurred during an evacuation to Wushishi.Gov. Muhammed Bago of Niger has expressed sympathy to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) over the tragic accident of its helicopter on Monday, August 14, 2023, while it was on an evacuation mission in the state.On Tuesday, August 15, in Abuja, Bago paid a visit to Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, the CAS, and delivered a message of sympathy. Additionally, he expressed sympathy to the Nigerian Army and the whole armed forces for the deaths of some soldiers who were killed in an ambush while participating in a clearance operation in the Wushishi region of the state. He said the helicopter crash, which happened within the mountains of Shinoro was on evacuation mission to Wushishi, where some soldiers were ambushed and killed by terrorists. The governor thanked the air force for its intervention and support for the people of Niger State in the fight against insurgency and banditry.
