PDP calls for INEC Chairman resignation

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has been urged by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to resign over allegations that the results of the presidential election held on February 25, 2023, were manipulated. The party demanded that Yakubu be detained and be the subject of an inquiry by the police and the Directorate of State Service. Atiku Abubakar, the party's candidate, came in second place behind President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the fiercely contested election (DSS). This comes after PDP leaders led by Atiku and supporters marched to the INEC headquarters in Abuja a few days prior to express their discontent with the election's results.
