As INEC ends its defense, the DSS clears Mbah of the NYSC certificate falsification charge

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) completed its case against Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party (LP) before the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Enugu on Wednesday without calling any witnesses.The tribunal is hearing a challenge filed by Chijioke Edeoga of the LP challenging Governor Peter Mbah of the PDP's election.Edeoga has asked the tribunal to disqualify Mbah for allegedly forging NYSC certificates and manipulating election results. When the issue was called for hearing, INEC attorney Humphrey Okoli told the tribunal that after a careful examination of their case, they chose not to call any witnesses. “Today, the first respondent is mandatory to open their defence, I wish to inform the court that after thorough review of the case, we have decided not to put in any witness,” he said.
