Sorghum farmers applaud Tinubu for declaring a state of emergency on food security

The SOFAN national president was also pleased to announce that Nigeria was now self-sufficient in sorghum production.The Sorghum Farmers Association of Nigeria (SOFAN) has praised President Bola Tinubu for announcing a food security state of emergency.The association's President, Alhaji Lawal Gada, made the remark during a news conference on Saturday in Abuja. According to Gada, the president's decision could not have come at a better moment than now, when the world is confronting a slew of crises threatening food supply systems worldwide, including Nigeria. He stated that the statement will considerably increase Nigeria's self-sufficiency in food production, making the country more food secure.
