One of President Tinubu's primary agenda priorities is to increase and improve access to equitable healthcare services for all citizens.As part of a deliberate attempt to enhance local medication manufacture, the Federal Government of Nigeria has announced its objective to reduce drug imports in the country from 60% to 40%.The Special Adviser to the President on Health, Salma Anas-Ibrahim, highlighted this breakthrough during a workshop in Abuja to strengthen collaboration between the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Nigeria. Anas-Ibrahim remarked that President Bola Tinubu has prioritised closing the health-care gap in the country. Additionally, a national health insurance scheme is being pursued, with the goal of providing coverage to at least 40% of Nigeria's population, ensuring that even the vulnerable groups have access to healthcare benefits.
