Give us another G5 for APC to win in 2027, Akpabio tells Wike

Akpabio congratulated Wike for his efforts in restoring power to the South in the 2023 presidential election.The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has asked Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his G5 colleagues to form a similar group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to pave the way for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win the presidential election in 2027.The G5 is a group of five disgruntled politicians who challenged their party's choice to choose northerner and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate in the 2023 election. Members of the group include Wike, the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, former governors of Benue, Abia, and Enugu states, and Samuel Ortom, Okezie Ikpeazu, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi respectively, were believed to have contributed to the party's failure in the February 25 poll.
