Despite getting a $3 billion loan from the IMF, Ghana's financial woes are expected to last a little longer

According to Ghana's President Nana Akufo-Addo, the $3 billion (£2.4 billion) IMF bailout will not cure the country's economic difficulties overnight. In a televised statement to the nation on Sunday, Ghana's president said that the IMF bailout will restore trust and put the country's economy back on firm ground. "It should result in a resurgence of confidence and the reopening of doors that have been closed to us for the past year and a half." It should also result in the restart of numerous stalled infrastructure projects," President Akufo-Addo stated. He acknowledged that appealing for IMF aid to help the economy recover from the consequences of the global epidemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine was a challenging task but essential decision. But others claim that egregious mismanagement is a contributing factor in the nation's economic woes.
