SWIPHA receives product prequalification from the World Health Organization

Swiss Pharma Nigeria Limited (SWIPHA), a subsidiary of Servier, a French multinational pharmaceutical business, has achieved World Health Organization (WHO) prequalification of Zinc Dispersible 20mg tablet, in what may be characterized as another first for the company.SWIPHA is Africa's first company to receive WHO prequalification for zinc pills. The WHO pre-qualification procedure, according to Frederic Lieutaud, Managing Director of Swiss Pharma Nigeria Limited, is a rigorous process that analyzes pharmaceutical goods based on their quality, safety, and efficacy. This honor is regarded as a sign of excellence in pharmaceutical manufacture around the world.Adeyeye noted that the WHO Prequalification of Medicines Programme (PQP) ensures that medicines supplied by procurement agencies meet acceptable standards of quality, safety, and efficacy. She encouraged other frontline local drug manufacturers to emulate this feat by harmonising collective aspiration and synergy of effort with NAFDAC to achieve more.
